New Guidelines Seek To Provide Clarity On Food Expiration Dates
There's no federal standard for indicating food expiration dates. Critics say as many as 14 different ways of styling an expiration date can lead to consumer confusion and food waste. Now, new guidance for food companies suggests using one of just two descriptors, "best if used by" and "used by."
